Hungry Minds, who are we?
Shanna
Having had a successful career in advertising, on becoming a parent Shanna chose to help local parents looking for quality childcare. She registered as a childminder in 2002 in London and was joined by her husband, Simon, two years later. In 2007 they set up Hungry Minds Childcare in Hove and have grown from a childminding setting with 6 children to a thriving nursery with 32 children. Shanna completed her NVQ level 3 in childcare in 2009.
Simon
Also having a background in advertising, Simon joined Shanna in 2005. Being a husband and wife team has allowed Hungry Minds to be a truly family based setting with the dynamic of both male and female role models a real draw for families. Simon enjoys the more physical, sporty side of fun in the nursery and works with the children on early ball skills and exercise. He also cooks the vast majority of the meals having been through Leiths cookery school. Simon completed his NVQ level 3 in 2010.
Danielle
Joined Hungry Minds in 2009 and is our Assistant Manager of the setting. Prior to Hungry Minds Dan worked at a local nursery and in the catering department at Shoreham Airport. Dan enjoys baking with the children and works with Shanna to do the planning for the under 3s age groups. Danielle is also our keen dancer and runs many of our high energy dance sessions! Dan completed her NVQ level 3 in 2010.
Rhiannon
Joined us in 2014. Rhi fitted straight into Hungry Minds. A real hit with the children she throws herself into all the activities planned throughout the day. NVQ level 3 qualified Rhi runs our 2 year group and we look forward to her spending many more years with the Hungry Minds Family.
Saffron
Hungry Minds was enhanced in 2016 when Saffron joined from another local nursery. Their loss is very much our gain, a fully qualified level 3, Saffron has brought new ideas and activities for the children and how the children love her sense of fun. Saffron is a natural with the little ones and does a great story time. Saffron now runs our Pre-school with help from Leigh and Paula.
Amy
Is our youngest member of the team having joined us from school to do her level 3 apprenticeship. From a big family Amy has grown up with little ones and on leaving school wanted to work with children. Amy is close to completing her level 3 qualification in double quick time. A keen athlete, Amy leads our physical exercise plans!!
